In addition to the location of Bombardier Aircraft Services, Pratt & Whitney Engine Services, Aurora Flight Sciences, and KCI Aviation, the Airport also supports two aviation-based education facilities; The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing with Marshall University and The Robert C. Byrd National Aerospace Education Center of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College.
