Kathy was selected to lead the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce in August 1999. Kathy previously worked at the Marion County Chamber of Commerce for more than ten years.

In addition to over 30 years of Chamber experience, Kathy was awarded the IOM graduate recognition after completing the US Chamber of Commerce's Institute for Organization Management in 2000. She has also participated in economic development basic training through the Council for Urban Economic Development, completed Leadership West Virginia in 2003, and completed the three-year Community Development Institute East program 2006. She earned her Professional Community & Economic Developer (PCED) certification in 2006 through the national Community Development Council and has successfully recertified as a PCED every three years.

Kathy serves on the United Hospital Center Board of Directors and is currently serving her fifth appointment on the Region VI Workforce Development Board and is a Past Chair of that Board. She is a member of the West Virginia Economic Development Council and the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. She is a past President of the Mountaineer Development Council, is a past President of the West Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, and a former member of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Kathy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mountain State University with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, Management and Development. She currently serves on the Boards of St. Joseph's Hospital and United Physicians Care. She is a Past Chair of the Board of Directors for HOPE, Inc. Task Force on Domestic Violence. Kathy is a native of the north central West Virginia area.

Marla Ferree, Marketing Director

Marla began her involvement with the Chamber as part of the Ambassadors Committee. She has served on the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee. In April 2021, Marla became part of the organization as the Marketing Director.

Marla is involved in the community by actively serving on several boards, volunteering her time to non-profit organizations, and working with community leaders.

Prior to her current role as Marketing Director, Marla enjoyed a successful twenty-four-year career in banking and finance. She still utilizes that knowledge as Treasurer for Uptown Clarksburg and the Clarksburg League for Service.

Marla is the President-Elect for Kiwanis of Clarksburg, a member of Hope Lions Club and Progressive Womens Association.

Marla is a resident of Lake Floyd where she makes her home with her husband Allen Ferree, Deputy Assessor, Commercial Real Estate Appraisal Supervisor for the Harrison County Assessor's Office The Ferree's have four children Paige Swentzel, Seth Ferree, Matthew Ferree, Johnathan Swentzel, and a granddaughter Madi.
